Tailored enzyme solutions
We leverage our cutting-edge platform and technology to help you reduce costs, increase efficiency, and maximize profitability.
Small-molecule biocatalysis
Enzymatic synthesis of small molecules. We engineer and source biocatalysts that boost activity and selectivity, replace costly chemical steps, and cut manufacturing cost — all enzymes with FTO and no prior-art.

Case studies
Enzyme engineering: pharma biocatalysis
The customer already uses an enzymatic step to synthesize a small molecule, but enzyme activity is low — both conversion rate and e.e. value must be greater than 99% with activity increased by at least 250%. In just one round, within the first quarter of the project, our engineered enzyme increased enzymatic activity by over 500% while maintaining conversion rate and e.e. value > 99%. All enzymes have FTO and no prior-art.
Metagenomic sourcing: pharma biocatalysis
The customer uses 17 chemical steps to synthesize a generic drug, with very high manufacturing cost. Their cheaper substitute substrate could not be converted to the correct product. We identified enzymes to realize enzymatic conversion of this novel cheap substrate to the correct product, replaced 11 chemical steps with one enzymatic step, and enabled the customer to project a 50% reduction in manufacturing costs — increasing their profit margin by $24M per year. All enzymes have FTO and no prior-art.
DNA / RNA modifying enzymes
Discovery and engineering of nucleic-acid enzymes for sequencing, amplification, synthesis, and diagnostics — designing novel proteins that clear crowded IP space while matching market-leading performance.

Case studies
Novel polymerase: NGS diagnostics
The customer wanted a better, novel polymerase for library preparation for NGS within a crowded IP space, requiring us to precisely identify sequence patterns in novel enzymes and remove them. In 4 months, we demonstrated that 22% of designed proteins showed significant activity, with the top 4% already comparable to market leaders in thermostability, processivity, speed, and fidelity.
